The Shop Owner

It’s Monday morning. The sun is out, the cows are grazing, the bees are flying from flower to flower. But our hero has no time to enjoy the romance of the Minecraft countryside. He is the owner of the local snack shop and has to keep it running smoothly.

Beautiful Monday we have today boss.

But we’re missing the pumpkin pie. Farmer James will sell it to you for an emerald. But I don’t have an emerald. I do have some rabbit’s feet. Cleric Felix will trade them for an emerald. With the emerald, go to Farmer James. He’ll be happy to sell you his pumpkin pie. Please bring it to me. Let us start selling.

In this world, the player must ensure the smooth operation of his shop. Every day there is a shortage of goods. Which one it is, he learns in the shop from the shopkeeper Olivia. However, it is not so easy to get it. The hero will have to find the right villagers in the village and exchange items with them until he gets the missing goods. Once he gets it, he will take it to the shopkeeper Olivia and she will take care of the rest.

After successfully completing the daily quest, the hero goes to see the local elder. He advances the time to the next day. At the same time, the hero learns how much revenue he had for that particular day. By visiting the elder, the player will end each day during Minecraft week after completing the daily quests. And each day he will learn the sales for that day.

This is what life is like in a Minecraft world that tests a student’s knowledge of mathematics. The pupil writes the daily sales in the Accounting Book, which you will receive as a PDF for this world. After the successful completion of the week, having filled the Ledger with all the sales, the pupil can go to the Minecraft Merchant Exam.

He will have to answer 10 mathematical questions such as ordering sales from smallest to largest, finding the largest sales of the working week, calculating the total sales for the weekend or calculating the net profit for the whole week. For each question, the correct answer will also be displayed and the pupil will compare it with the results in his/her ledger.

This world combines the game mechanics of bartering, finding the right solutions and logical combinations with mathematical exercises. The indisputable advantage of this world is that although the specific daily tasks remain the same, the daily sales are generated randomly, so each game provides different numbers for calculations.

The numbers generated are from 1 to 99, so mathematical operations are with passing through 100, such as to calculate the total sales for the whole week

So don’t hesitate and let your kids experience a math adventure in our Minecraft world.

In the following video, you will find a small walk-through of our world.

The technical side:

The world is available for Minecraft: Education Edition but also for the Minecraft Bedrock version, so the world can be played on your computer, tablet or phone

We provide the world in Minecraft world format but also as a Minecraft world template.
