Minecraft Club cloning world

Let’s build something BIG!

We have a small but practical world for you that can be used for many different subjects. It’s a cloning world!
There are twelve platforms in this world. These platforms are designed to be used for building, according to a given subject. Next to each platform is a chest, which contains an armour stand and a name tag.

When the student is finished building, he or she takes the armour stand and name tag from the chest. He places the stand anywhere in this world. When he applies the name tag on the stand, his creation is cloned to the place where the renamed stand stood. The structure is cloned to a height of 20 (the maximum Y coordinate to clone is 20).

Students have a visual aid, arrows, in the sky to remind them which direction their creation will be cloned.

Of course, they need to be aware of the surrounding area and place clones of their structures so that they do not destroy other structures in the area where they are cloning their structure.

I used this world on my Minecraft Club where the assignment was to build a city. The students built their houses and used cloning to gradually build a city. We even had a neighbourhood with villas lined up nicely in the street.

Here’s a short video to see how to use the world.

The world is available as a world template (I recommend using that, as you can always create a new, unused world using a template), or as the world itself, which you just need to import.
Of course, this world is available for Minecraft: Education Edition and also for Bedrock edition.
