Mathematical abyss

In math, you’re either right or you’re wrong
(Katherine Johnson)

We have another mathematical world for you, the Mathematical Abyss.

Math can be a lot of fun, and that’s exactly what we tried to do when we created this world.

This world is actually a game (multiplayer too!) that tests your knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and simple equations.

The game principle is simple.

The player(s) find themselves on a platform covered with different numbers (the platform is generated randomly, it is always a different one). When the game starts, they are shown an equation that they must calculate, such as

5 + 7 = ?

When they calculate their result, they must find the block with the number that matches their result and stand on it. Players only have a certain amount of time to do their calculations, as after the time limit expires, all the blocks that have numbers with incorrect answers will disappear. Players who were standing on them will fall through and the game is over for them.

The first 80 levels cover the mathematical operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division for all numbers from 1 to 10. The equations, as well as the area itself, are generated randomly, so each game is different.

The last 10 levels test the player’s/student’s knowledge of simple equations such as

15 – 3 x 2 = ?

or

4 x 4 + 9 x 3 = ?

Before the actual start of the game, one randomly selected player can adjust the game settings:

Difficulty:

Normal – players have 10 seconds to solve the equation

Brutal – Players have 5 seconds to solve the equation

Dark/Light Mode – adjusts the lighting of the room, the numbers themselves glow in the dark, so the game can be played in near darkness

PVP – if PVP is on, players can punch each other (so they can push each other from block to block). However, this option can only be turned on by a player who has reached at least level 60 in previous games. PVP can be turned off by any player.

And here is a short tutorial on how the game works
